What is it like to deliver mail?
As a postman at CityMail you work both independently and as part of a team. Being a postman is a very active and mobile job. Your day starts with sorting and then delivering mail by either bike, moped or car. It also includes some administrative tasks, like handling forwarded mail/mail that has no recipient at the given address and updating our address registry. However, at some of our local offices our postmen only deliver already sorted mail. As a postman, you are also an important representative for the company, and part of your work is providing excellent service for our customers and addressees to make sure they have a positive experience using CityMails services.
Is it you we’re looking for?
We’re looking for self-starters that are driven yet appreciate working in different teams. We want those that enjoy exercising and live an active lifestyle outside of work, to make sure that our employees appreciate a challenging, fast-paced job with lots of personal responsibility. Delivering mail is an important societal function and it’s important that it reaches the right addressee in a timely manner. As a postman you need to be able to communicate in Swedish in both speech and writing at a minimum basic level. And you need to share our belief that people of different backgrounds and with different experiences are important in order to continue to develop our services and continuously improve as a company.
Employment, working hours and benefits
Most people start out working with us on an hourly basis, but the opportunity for permanent employment is very good for those who wish to transition into a permanent role. As an hourly employee you will be scheduled when there are peaks in our workload or when permanent staff is unavailable. Normal working hours will be between 07.00-08.00 and 15.30-16.30. As a postman, part of your benefit package includes recreational grant, work shoes, discount deals and other benefits.
